    Synthesis and Study of Catalytic Activity of Iron (III)-bis(2-oxazolinyl) Methane complex by Urea Hydrogen Peroxide in Oxidation of Sulfides

    Abstract
    Considerable effort has been directed in recent years towards the transition metal complex catalyzed oxidation of organic compounds. Herein the synthsis of the iron complex of bis(oxazoline) ligand as a novel catalyst is reported, and the catalytic activity of this complex in oxidation of sulfides is investigated. Bis(2-oxazolynil)methane as ligand is prepared by condensation of diethylmalonate with 2-aminoethanole in 1:2 molar ratio and finally corresponding complex is synthesized by the reaction between FeCl3.6H2O and Bis(2-Oxazolynil)methane in 1:1 molar ratio.     Due to study of reactivity and interaction of Schiff base complexes, as models of biological system such as vitamin B (B6 and B12) and enzyme (cytochtome c oxidase), some mono and binuclear Zn(II), Pd(II) and Co(II) Schiff base complexes were synthesized and characterized. As a model for vitamin B6, tridentate Schiff base ligands derived from the condensation of water soluble aldehyde with the amino acids (glycine, L-alanine, L-valine, L-leucine and L-phenylalanine) in the presence of Zn (OAc)2.2H2O give rise to the formation of five new water soluble Zn(II) complexes.     There are many ways to color the vertices and edges of graphs, such as, rainbow connection, vertex coloring and dynamic coloring. In this thesis, in Chapter 1 we introduce a new coloring, we consider its relationship with some other colorings and we investigate its computational complexity. In chapter 1, we focus on the proper orientation number. The problem of orienting the edges of a given simple graph so that the maximum indegree of vertices is minimized was introduced in 2004. We show that there is a polynomial time algorithm for determining the proper orientation number of a given 3-regular graph. In this regard, as a generalization of well-known Cheeger constant, we define k-th isoperimetric constant as the minimum of normalized outgoing flow over all k-subpartitions (disjoint subsets) of the vertex set.     In this study, some properties of metallochlorophylls - compounds produced by replacing Mg2+ in tetrapyrrolic ring of chlorophyll b with divalent ions – of the forth period transit elements of the periodic table have been investigated. Using DFT/B3LYP method and DGDZVP basis set, structures of these compounds were optimized and the energy of electronic levels, Gibbs free energy of formation of complex, contribution of atomic orbitals to formation of molecular orbitals and partial charges in these molecules were computed.
