    Abstract
In this paper, the impacts of Maxwell nanoliquid transmission, rectangular with titanium oxide nanoparticles are explored over the triangular, chamfer blades. The innovation of this paper is the use of the number of chamfers, rectangular, and triangular blades at the top and bottom of a stretched plate to study physical nanofluid parameters such as temperature and the effects of magnetism. Also, by determining the appropriate height and length for the blades, we achieve the best optimization of temperature and velocity of nanofluid between the plate and the blades, which improves heat transfer and with a more and better effect of magnetic effects. The finite element method is utilized for...

    Abstract
Apathy is a stressor and debilitating common condition for both stroke survivors and their caregivers. However, its effects on the postural control of these patients have not yet been investigated. Improved postural stability through withdrawing attention from postural control by concurrent cognitive task (i.e. dual-task condition) has been reported previously, but the effect of apathy, as a confounding factor, remains unknown. This study aimed to examine the effects of apathy and dual-task condition on postural control of chronic stroke survivors from biomechanical and neurophysiological perspectives. Twenty non-apathetic stroke survivors, 20 apathetic stroke survivors, and 20 sex-, age-,...

    Abstract
Achieving high efficiency and throughput in droplet-based mixing over a small characteristic length, such as microfluidic channels, is one of the crucial parameters in Lab-on-a-Chip (LOC) applications. One solution to achieve efficient mixing is to use active mixers in which an external power source is utilized to mix two fluids. One of these active methods is magnetic micromixers using ferrofluid. In this technique, magnetic nanoparticles are used to make one phase responsive to magnetic force, and then by applying a magnetic field, two fluid phases, one of which is magneto-responsive, will sufficiently mix. In this study, we investigated the effect of the magnetic field’s characteristics...

    Abstract
Performance and reliability are two prominent factors in the design of data storage systems. To achieve higher performance, recently storage system designers use DynamicDynamic RAMRAM (DRAM)-based buffers. The volatility of DRAM brings up the possibility of data loss and data inconsistency. Thus, a part of the main storage is conventionally used as the journal area to be able of recovering unflushed data pages in the case of power failure. Moreover, periodically flushing buffered data pages to the main storage is a common mechanism to preserve a high level of reliability. This scheme, however, leads to a considerable increase in storage write traffic, which adversely affects the performance....

    Abstract
Humans have a unique ability to use language for social communication. The neural architecture for language comprehension and production may have prominently emerged in the brain areas that were originally involved in social cognition. Here, we directly tested the fundamental link between language and social processing using functional magnetic resonance data (MRI) data from over 1,000 human subjects. Cortical activations in language and social tasks showed a striking similarity with a complementary hemispheric lateralization. Within core language areas, left-lateralized activations in the language task were mirrored by right-lateralized activations in the social task. Outside these areas,...

Phase transition and fractionalization in the superconducting Kondo lattice model

    , Article Physical Review B ; Volume 106, Issue 19 , 2022 ; 24699950 (ISSN) Mohammadi, F ; Saedpanah, A ; Vaezi, A ; Kargarian, M ; Sharif University of Technology

    Abstract
Topology, symmetry, electron correlations, and the interplay between them have formed the cornerstone of our understanding of quantum materials in recent years and are used to identify new emerging phases. While the first two give a fair understanding of noninteracting and, in many cases, weakly interacting wave function of electron systems, the inclusion of strong correlations could change the picture substantially. The Kondo lattice model is a paradigmatic example of the interplay of electron correlations and conduction electrons of a metallic system, describing heavy fermion materials and also fractionalized Fermi liquid pertaining to an underlying gauge symmetry and topological orders....

Analysis of torsional vibrations on the resolver under eccentricity in pmsm drive system

    , Article IEEE Sensors Journal ; Volume 22, Issue 22 , 2022 , Pages 21592-21599 ; 1530437X (ISSN) Khajueezadeh, M. S ; Feizhoseini, S ; Nasiri Gheidari, Z ; Behzad, M ; Sharif University of Technology

    Abstract
Since any error in the rotor angle caused by the resolver affects the entire permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) control drive system, it is necessary to investigate its effect on mechanical vibrations. Torsional vibration is accordingly considered in the following study. Thereby, first, the effect of resolver errors on the harmonic content of motor current and, subsequently, torque ripple (TR) was investigated. Then, dynamical modeling is done for the generator-motor-resolver set to get the mechanical frequency response (FR) resulting from the resolver errors. Based on the above modeling, the dynamic equations (DEQs) of the system were derived, and the mechanical characteristics of...

To generate the desired magnetic field, a Helmholtz electromagnetic coil is manufactured. To steer the robot to the desired position, at first the robot dynamics is investigated, and subsequently a controller based on a neuro-fuzzy network has been designed. Finally, the proposed controller is...

    Abstract
We study an open quantum spin chain of arbitrary length with nearest neighbor XX interactions of strength g, immersed in an external constant magnetic field Δ along the z direction, whose end spins are weakly coupled to two heat baths at different temperatures. In the so-called global approach, namely, without neglecting interspin interactions, using standard weak-coupling limit techniques, we first derive the open chain master equation written in terms of fermionic mode operators. Then, we focus on the study of the dependence of the resulting open dynamics from the ratio rg/Δ. By increasing r, some of the chain Bohr transition frequencies become negative; when this occurs, both the...
