    In this study, application of the Response Surface Methodology and the Central Composite Design (CCD) technique for modeling and optimization of the influence of several operating variables on titanium recovery in a leaching process were investigated. The four main leaching parameters, namely temperature, acid concentration, leaching time and solid to liquid ratio, were changed during-the leaching experiments based on the CCD. A total of 30 leaching experiments were designed and carried out in the CCD method according to software-based designed matrix.     Abstract
    Particle size and shape of iron ore concentrate are effective parameters in the production of quality green pellets. In this research, the effect of particle morphology on green pellet quality was studied. It was concluded that pellet quality improved with increasing specific surface area. Drop number and green compression strength of pellets ground by HPGR were found to be superior over those ground in the ball mill. The chief reasons were related to particle shape and the fraction of fine particles.     In naturally fractured reservoirs, modeling of mass transfer between matrix blocks and fractures is an important subject during gas injection or contaminant transport. This study focuses on developing an exact analytical solution to transient tracer transport problem along a discrete fracture in a porous rock matrix.     In this paper, a Block Iterative Method with Adaptive Thresholding for Sparse Recovery (BIMATSR) is proposed to recover the received signal in an under-sampled distributed MIMO radar. The BIMATSR scheme induces block sparsity with the aid of a signal-dependent thresholding operator which increases the accuracy of the target parameter estimation task. We have proved that under some sufficient conditions, the suggested scheme converges to a stable solution. Moreover, different simulation scenarios confirm that the BIMATSR algorithm outperforms its counterparts in terms of the target parameter estimation.     In this letter, we propose a new accurate approach for target localization in multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) radars, which exploits the sparse spatial distribution of targets to reduce the sampling rate. We express the received signal of a MIMO radar in terms of the deviations of target parameters from the grid points in the form of a block sparse signal using the expansion around all the neighbor points. Applying a block sparse recovery method, we can estimate both the grid-point locations of targets and these deviations.     The effect of an efficient biosurfactant produced from Pseudomonas aeroginosa MR01, a bacterial strain isolated from oil excavation areas in southern Iran, on the recovery of residual oil trapped within carbonate rocks, was investigated. In a core holder set-up, bearing a number of limestone-and dolomite-containing core samples, biosurfactant flooding resulted in oil recoveries as large as 20% to 28% Residual Oil (R.O).     Compressed images such as JPEG when transmitted over communication channels are susceptible to channel noise and/or erasure, which causes losses of blocks of pixels or macroblocks. Recovery of a large block in an image is a difficult task. In this paper we propose a novel method that addresses this problem and can exactly recover a lost block. Moreover, the proposed algorithm is fast enough to be implemented in real time.     Vertical copper oxide nanoflakes were synthesized on a Cu foil through oxidation in alkaline conditions. X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy showed that after exposing the nanoflakes to an Escherichia coli bacterial suspension, the outermost surface of the nanoflakes was chemically reduced through the glycolysis process of the bacteria.
