    In this study, a nonlinear observer for high-speed estimation of the sample surface topography in a small duration of the probe transient motion utilizing a 2DOF model of TR-AFM is proposed. Since the time duration to reach the steady-state periodic motion of the oscillating probe in conventional imaging methods is relatively high, the proposed nonlinear observer in this research is able to address this limitation and estimate the surface topography throughout transient oscillation of the microcantilever.     Nonlinearity caused by actuator constraint plays a destructive role in the overall performance of a control system. A model predictive controller can handle the problem by implementing a constrained optimization algorithm. Due to the iterative nature of the solution, however, this requires high computation power. As plants make up a noticeable part of our diet, in the present study we chose microRNAs of edible plants and investigated if they can perfectly match human genes, indicating potential regulatory functionalities.     The present study evaluates the application of top-down steel demand estimation in developing countries. The anticipated steel demand for the case of Iran is calculated by three methods, including the growth model (GM), the intensity of use hypothesis (IUH), and the fixed stock paradigm (FCP). GM shows a broad range of apparent steel demand based on the assumed growth factor. When the gross domestic product (GDP) per capita reaches 13,000 dollars per person (constant 2010 US$), the IUH method estimates the consumption peak consumption at around 500 kg steel per capita per year, which is being expected between 2040 and 2060 depending on the economic growth assumptions.
