    Abstract
    This work is concerned with the experimental investigation of mass transfer, which occurs during diffusion of hydrocarbon solvents in heavy oil based on constant and concentration-dependent diffusion coefficient. Here, a series of free fall diffusion experiments have been conducted in sealed test tubes at fixed temperatures. Pentane, hexane, and octane were used as solvents and were placed on heavy oil in tubes. The diffusivity of heavy oil into solvents was monitored by a digital camera.     Abstract
    In this work, a mathematical model was developed to simulate the urinary concentration mechanism. A 3-D geometry was derived based on the detail physiological pictures of rat kidney. The approximate region of each tubule was obtained from the volume distribution of structures based on Walter Pfaller's monograph and Layton's region-based model. Mass and momentum balances were applied to solve for the change in solutes concentration and osmolality. The osmolality of short and long descending nephrons at the end of the outer medulla was obtained to be 530 mOsmol/kgH2O and 802 mOsmol/kgH2O, respectively, which were in acceptable agreement with experimental data.     Background: Purified terephthalic acid (PTA) wastewater from a petrochemical complex was utilized as a fuel in the anode of a microbial fuel cell (MFC). Effects of two important parameters including different dilutions of the PTA wastewater and pH on the performance of the MFC were investigated. Methods: The MFC used was a membrane-less single chamber consisted of a stainless steel mesh as anode electrode and a carbon cloth as cathode electrode.     Mass transfer rates to the drops in liquid-liquid extraction equipment are often likely to be reduced by the presence of surface active contaminants. This reduction in mass transfer is said to be due to a reduction in terminal velocity, and to changes in pattern of internal circulation.     Concentration of Low Grade Zinc Carbonate ore of Anguran Mine by Froth Flotation

    Abstract
    In this work feasibility of concentrating zinc carbonate ore from Anguran mine by froth flotation process has been studied. Potasium Amyl Xhantate and Oleic Acid have been studied as possible collectors. The initial tests indicate that oleic acid might be a better collector. Experimental were conducted to determined important factors and to optimize the process by careful control of the pulp chemical composition and flotation variables. A concentrate containing 24.9% zinc has been attained. The recovery of zinc in the concentrate is 76.1%.

    Abstract Background: The aim of this study is to accelerate and improve aerobic granulation within a Sequencing Batch Reactor (SBR) by cationic polymer addition. Methods: To identify whether the polymer additive is capable of enhancing granule formation, two SBRs (R1 and R2, each 0.15 m in diameter and 2 m in height) are used by feeding synthetic wastewater.     Abstract
    In this paper a novel refractive structure for increasing the performance of photovoltaic cells1 is proposed. This structure which is named back-to-back-Fresnel lens is similar to conventional Fresnel lens used for energy concentration on PV cells while comprising some superior features. Among these features is its thinness, just like Fresnel lens, and lower loss of energy and simpler structure and design compared to a Fresnel lens with similar properties.
