- Abstract:
- Recently studies have shown that about 50% to 70% of voice calls and other traffics are used in indoors by users. Due to the growing need to increase the rate of communication networks and macrocells resource constraints in providing this need, the idea of using femtocells was proposed. These cells transmite traffics via IP network to the operator. This would reduce the load of macrocells and thereby increase the rate of network users. So the idea of using femtocells inside macrocells was introduced. In addition to increasing the rate of network, the other advantages of using femtocells are lower cost, lower power consumption and better user channel condition. The important challenge of using femtocells is allocation of resources such as power, time and frequency. There are several methods in this field such as fractional frequency reuse, power control and cognitive methods. Another group of methods have used interference matrix for resource allocation. The methodology presented in this thesis is based on interference matrix. In our proposed method femtocells form interference matrix together. Then based on these matrices, femtocell management system allocates time-frequency resources between femtocells with the aim of increasing the network rate, providing QoS and eliminating interference. Also a mechanism is offered that will determine which resource is assigned to which user in every femtocell. The purpose of this mechanism is increasing total rate of network and reducing the network signaling
