- Abstract:
- Vitamin C is one of the essential ingredients for the survival of human beings, animals and plants. This vitamin is an ester that in its structure there is a cyclic ester, an alkene Factor (C = C) and four hydroxyl factor (OH). This vitamin is a white solid, water-soluble and non-toxic that exists in many fruits, especially citrus. Its presence in the diet of human resistance them against infections increases. The main factor causing acidic property in vitamin C is the presence of OH groups attached to the alkene. Various forms of vitamin C exists in pharmaceutical collection of European countries. Since the tablet form because of the many advantages including being economical compared with other pharmaceutical forms, stability ease of packing, handling and distribution, dose uniformity and easier to use than other dosage forms, this tablet form is more acceptable to patients and physicians. In this study, Vitamin C was coated and finally film-coated tablets were produced from it. Then the tablet was released in water with the help of Design expert software and then the answers reviewed with response surface methodology(RSM), fainally the amount of laminated vitamin was calculated. It was found From the tests, that after one week of making tablets, in optimum conditions, only about 53 percent of the vitamin was protected, or remaind in the tablet. In the following, this loss in the amount of coated vitamin was checked to some extend, and compared these produced tablets with commercial ones. In this study, the amount of gelatin used in manufacture of coated tablets was replaced with frankincense plant as a useful polymer. In this regard, at the maximum removal, 5 grams of gelatin was removed and this amount was replaced with 0.5 grams of frankincense (maximum value of this material to achieve the desired texture for tablets). Then new coating properties were evaluated and significant results were obtained showing the stability of vitamin C in this new circumstances
