  7. Abstract:
  8. One of the Advanced Oxidation Process (AOP) is Photocatalyst method. Structure of this method is according to three foundation: 1. Catalyst, 2. Source of energy, 3. Wastewater. Progress of human activity around variety of fields such as pharmaceutical, plastic industry, and medical science has produced some micro pollutants such as Bisphenol A (BPA) that has aroused the public concerns in recent years. The half-life of this components in water, air and soil is too long, so typical methods such as biological method, activated sludge and carbon adsorption are inefficient in removing BPA. This work describes a visible light responsive Carbon Quantum Dots(CQDs) embedded on TiO_2 nanoparticles which was synthesized by sol-gel method. First, TiO_2 was prepared at various calcination temperature. TiO_2 which calcined at 500℃ was the best mixed phase of rutile and anatase. Then, Fe was doped into TiO_2 to modified capability of nanocatalyst in visible light. Next, to reach full usage of the visible region of light(>400nm), various amount of CQDs was embedded on TiO_2. All the prepared samples were calcined at 500℃ and characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis, field emission scanning electron microscopy(FESEM), energy-dispersive X-ray (EDX) spectroscopy, Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) spectrometry and diffuse reflectance spectroscopy (DRS). The photocatalytic performance of 〖Fe/TiO〗_2/CQDs was investigated by degradation of Bisphenol A (BPA). The results revealed that CQDs content of 〖Fe/TiO〗_2 composite has a great influence on the photocatalytic activity of nanocatalyst. The highest photocatalytic activity was achieved by 7wt% 〖CQD on TiO〗_2 in 100 minutes. Compared to pure TiO_2 and Fe doped TiO_2, which are capable to degrade 7% and 28% of BPA under visible light respectively, 7wt% 〖CQD on Fe/TiO〗_2 can remove BPA (98%) under the same condition. Operation parameters such as concentration of nanocatalyst and concentration of pollutant is optimized and reported
