Optimal Nonlinear Control of Poly Vinyl Acetate CSTR

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Hassanzadeh, Bardia (Author) ; Pishvaie, Mahmoud Reza (Supervisor)
    Abstract
Nonlinear nature of polymerization reactors has always attracted great attentions in various scientific areas such as modeling, simulation, dynamical behavior investigation and control engineering as well. Free radical polymerization in continuous reactors, whether in terms of design and startup or in terms of economical concerns, has numerous fans in industrial aspects. In the following thesis, the dynamical behavior of continuous stirred tank reactor of Vinyl Acetate free radical polymerization is examined in an industrial scale. A control system with optimum performance is designed for this CSTR as well. According to the common behavior of this type of reactor, it may demonstrate...

Fluids Flow Simulation in the Cell Influenced the Focal Adhesions

, Ph.D. Dissertation Sharif University of Technology Nikmaneshi, Mohammad Reza (Author) ; Firoozabadi, Bahar (Supervisor) ; saidi, Mohammad said (Co-Advisor)
    Abstract
In the present thesis, intracellular fluid flows have investigated for study cell motions. It is due to firmly relation between the cell motion and these flows. Generally, the cell firstly adheres to a surface, then, moves forward with the effects of the internal fluid flows. In this study, the cell structure is invided to two general parts; the front part of the cell and the cell body. The front part of the cell plays a essential roles in the cell motion, however, the cell body is considered as a extra cargo that is carried by the front of the cell. Therefor, in the present modellings, the front part is only considered. Here, using four different models for the front part of the cell, many...

Synthesis and Characterization of Polymer Nanofibers Modified by Using of Radiated Grafting for Adsorption of Molybdenum Ions from Aqueous Solution

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Fayazi, Mohammad Reza (Author) ; Outokesh, Mohammad (Supervisor) ; Asadollahzadeh, Mehdi (Supervisor) ; Torkaman, Rezvan (Co-Supervisor) ; Torab Mostaedi, Meysam (Co-Supervisor)
    Abstract
Molybdenum is one of the important elements of the intermediary metal with atomic number 42, which is used in various industries, but among the important uses of this metal in the nuclear industry, we can mention the presence of this element in the production of yellow cake as an impurity and also as a precursor for the production of radiopharmaceuticals. It is one of the impurities that remain in all stages of yellow cake production along with uranium, and the high presence of this element causes the centrifuges to become unbalanced during the injection of "U" "F" _"6" gas, and on the other hand, technetium, the main ingredient in the production of radiopharmaceuticals, It comes from the...

Investigation on the Effects of the Polyacrylamide Copolymers and Their Blends with Sulfonated Lignin on the Soil Stabilization

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Ebrahimi, Shohre (Author) ; Ramazani Saadatabadi, Ahmad (Supervisor) ; Ebrahimi, Hossein (Co-Supervisor)
    Abstract
In recent years, dust pollution has become a worldwide issue due to the creation of serious environmental problems and the effects it has on human health. In this research, an environmentally friendly soil stabilizer has been synthesized, and its performance has been investigated. Acrylamide monomers were grafted onto sodium lignosulfonate chains, utilizing solution polymerization. The soil of the Ahvaz deserts was used in the analyses. Using EDX and DLS analyses, the components of this soil and the particle size distribution of the used soil were obtained. Characterization of the functional groups and the structure of the graft copolymer were done by FTIR and H-NMR analysis, respectively,...

Synthesis of Dithiocarbamate Salts, Reaction of Divinyl Sulfone with Amines and CS2 & Polymerization of Diamines and CS2 with Michael Acceptors

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Raesi, Mozhgan (Author) ; Mahmoodi Hashemi, Mohammad (Supervisor) ; Ziyaei Halimjani, Azim (Supervisor)
    Abstract
At the first part of project, different kinds of monodithiocarbamates were synthesized. In order to prepare these compounds two methods have been used:Reactions of amines and carbon disulfide in water and finally addition of Michael acceptors.Reaction of amines and carbon disulfide, then addition of alkyl halides under solvent-free conditions.Dithiocarbamate salts are prepared in ether by using CF3SO3CH3 as the methylation agent with resulted monodithiocarbamates at the first part of the project. These salts are found to be ionic liquids, which is important class of organic compounds. At the second part of project, the Michael additions of amines with divinyl sulfone are investigated in...

Synthesis and Characterization of Polymeric Nanocomposites Via Reversible Addition−Fragmentation Chain-Transfer (RAFT) Polymerization and Investigation of their Applications

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Kohestanian, Mohammad (Author) ; Pourjavadi, Ali (Supervisor)
    Abstract
In this thesis, nanocomposites based on magnetic graphene oxide and iron oxide nanoparticles coated with smart polymeric materials (by polymerization of monomers such as glycidyl methacrylate, acrylic acid, and N-isopropyl acrylamide) via Reversible Addition−Fragmentation Chain-Transfer (RAFT) polymerization were successfully synthesized. The combination of large surface area in nanoparticles and different functional groups in polymeric layers can give unique properties to nanocomposites. Therefore, we synthesized various smart nanocomposites with this perspective. After synthesizing these nanocomposites, smart magnetic nanoparticles were characterized by FT-IR, NMR, XPS, TGA, DLS, VSM, GPC,...
