  5. Azlactones have been prepared via Erlenmeyer synthesis from aromatic aldehydes and hippuric acid using Fe 2O 3 nanoparticles under ultrasonic irradiation. Short reaction times, easy and quick isolation of the products, and excellent yields are the main advantages of this procedure
