The flexible magnetic robot is used for minimally invasive surgeries where there is a complex environment. Precise control of the position of the end of the robot and quick adaptation of the robot to uncertainties are among the most important challenges in this field, where the controller is responsible for compensating the error and controlling the position of the end of the robot. Now, is it possible to create a kind of memory in the system that when faced with the same or similar errors in the same situations or close to previous errors, the system uses its past and compensates the error? The importance of this work is that the response speed of the system is increased and the system can...

, Ph.D. Dissertation Sharif University of Technology Aghajani, Mahdieh (Author) ; Akhavan, Mohammad (Supervisor) ; Hadipour, Hanif (Co-Supervisor)
    Abstract
The ternary 122-type AeFe2As2 (Ae=Ba,Sr,Ca) compounds are antiferromagnetic metals with the orthorhombic lattice structure at ambient pressure and low temperature. By applying mechanical pressure, structural, magnetic and superconducting transitions occur in these compounds. The isovalent doping of Ba with Sr and Ca elements induces chemical pressure and reduces the onset pressure of these transitions. The main purpose of this thesis is to investigate and compare the effects of mechanical and chemical pressures on the structural and magnetic phase transition in the 122 compounds. To achieve this purpose, we have done first-principle calculations for many properties such as the structural...

    Abstract
The single-domain particles, especially FeCo fine particles have many applications in magnetic information technology. We have prepared Fe 1-xCox fine particles for different x by borohydride method and measured the magnetic and structural properties of the samples. We have then determined the variations of coercivity and anisotropy energy versus x in Fe1-xCox fine particles. The obtained results have been analyzed on the basis of various magnetic anisotropies. Magnetic anisotropies affect the coercivity of the medium for each x as follows: shape and crystal anisotropies for x=0, surface and crystal anisotropies for x=1, shape, induced and crystal anisotropies for x=0.3 and 0.5, and shape...

    Abstract
The controlled and stable crystal structure, reduction in Curie temperature and semiconducting nature of oxide materials are the key factors for magnetoelectrical applications. Therefore, Co0.6Mn0.4GdxFe2-xO4 where x = 0, 0.033, 0.066 and 0.10 were synthesized to analyse the structural, morphological, magnetic, and electrical properties using a sol-gel autocombustion approach. The X-ray diffraction pattern reveals that the cubic crystallite size decreases with increasing smaller content of Gd3+ oxides without any secondary phase. Field emission scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM) and high-resolution transmission electron microscopy (HR-TEM) study explain the complete morphology,...

    Abstract
Ferrite nanocrystals are an interesting material due to their rich physical properties. Here we add nonmagnetic dopants Zn and Cu to nickel ferrite nanocrystals, Ni1-xMxFe2O4 (0 ≤ x ≤ 1, M = Cu, Zn), and study how relevant properties of the samples are modified accordingly. Basically, these dopings cause a rearrangement of Fe +3 ions into the two preexisting octahedral and tetrahedral sites. In fact, this, we show, induces pertinent magnetic properties of the doped samples. In the case of the Cu-doping, the Jahn-Teller effect also emerges, which we identify through the Fourier Transform Infra-Red Spectroscopy of the samples. Moreover, we show an increase in the lattice parameters of the...

    Abstract
This paper presents the densification and microstructure of bilayer structures made from 316L and 17-4PH stainless steels powders during sintering. The requirements for such objects could be magnetic properties at one area of the part and non-magnetic properties at another area of the object. A pressureless solid state sintering method in conjunction with a powder layering technique was used. The sintering was carried out at temperatures ranging from 1100 to 1340 °C for 120 min in hydrogen and vacuum atmospheres. Non-isothermal sintering behavior was also examined by dilatometric analysis. It was found that the strain rate of 17-4PH stainless steel powder is higher than that of 316L during...

Properties of charge and magnetic impurities in a spin-polarized electron gas: A semiclassical approach

    , Article Physica E: Low-Dimensional Systems and Nanostructures ; Volume 28, Issue 3 , 2005 , Pages 313-322 ; 13869477 (ISSN) Shokri, A. A ; Esfarjani, K ; Sharif University of Technology
    2005
    Abstract
Analytical studies on the effect of charge and magnetic impurities in a spin-polarized electron gas (SPEG) are carried out using a Thomas-Fermi semiclassical approximation (TFSA). The susceptibility matrix of an SPEG is calculated within the TFSA framework. Charge, spin and mixed charge-spin screening lengths are defined and calculated for the bulk metals (Fe, Co and Ni). It is found that these screening lengths do not strongly depend on temperature in metallic samples. Based on the Ruderman-Kittel-Kasuya-Yoshida (RKKY) model, the magnetic response function is then used to calculate the dependence of the exchange coupling between two ferromagnetic layers. It is seen that the exchange...

    Abstract
In this study, the kinetics of nanocrystallization of amorphous Fe 73.5Si13.5B9Nb3Cu1 (F1) and Fe77Si11B9Nb2.4Cu0.6 (F2) alloys is investigated. The microstructure and magnetic properties of the nanocrystalline alloys are compared. The crystallization temperature of F2 alloy is shifted towards lower temperatures with respect to F1. Thus, the crystalline volume fraction and the crystalline grain size at specific annealing temperature for the F2 alloy are higher than for the F1 alloy, accounting for the higher coercive force of F2 alloy with respect to the one of F1 alloy. According to isoconversional methods, the activation energy for crystallization is variable as a function of transformed...

    , Article Scientia Iranica ; Volume 24, Issue 6 , 2017 , Pages 3521-3525 ; 10263098 (ISSN) Shivaee, H. A ; Celegato, F ; Tiberto, P ; Castellero, A ; Baricco, M ; Hosseini, H. R. M ; Sharif University of Technology
    Abstract
Thin films of Fe73.1Cu1Nb3.1Si14.7B8.2 alloy with 200, 500, and 800 nm thicknesses have been deposited by RF sputtering. Their magnetic properties have been characterized using Alternating Gradient Field Magnetometer (AGFM) and Vibrating Sample Magnetometer (VSM). The effects of residual stresses investigated by nanoindentation experiments were conducted on the as-deposited samples. It is observed that the coercivity of as-deposited films is inversely proportional to the thickness in relation with the residual stress induced during sputtering. © 2017 Sharif University of Technology.
