, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Safar koopayeh, Barzin (Author) ; Ghanbari, Bahram (Supervisor)
    Abstract
In this research, a new group of N2O2–azacrown macrocyclic ligands with different macroring size from 15 to 18 was synthesized using one-pot facile and high yield reaction. The products were characterized applying FT-IR, 1H and 13C NMR spectroscopies as well as elemental analysis. The single crystal structure of 18-membered macrocyclic ligand was also determined by x-ray crystallography. The crystallographic data showed such strong inter-molecular hydrogen bonding which excluded their nitrogen-donor groups, and initial investigation with UV-Vis spectroscopy shows no intraction with [60]fullerene, despite of presence of these interacrtions in their parent macrocycles. The result of Job’s...

Evaluating the Effect of Crumb Rubber on the Fracture Properties of Asphaltic Materials Using a Standardized Composite

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Ghanbari, Amir (Author) ; Motamed, Arash (Supervisor)
    Abstract
Fatigue cracking has a major impact on the performance of flexible pavements. Many test methods have been established to evaluate and estimate the fatigue life of asphaltic materials. Most of these test methods cannot successfully examine the fatigue properties of asphaltic materials. Recent studies demonstrate that using a standardized composite, which consists of glass beads and asphalt binder, can simulate the stress states that binder experiences in the field. This research used standardized composite to investigate the effect of crumb rubber on the fracture properties of asphaltic materials. To validate the test results, the authors conducted fracture tests on the Fine Aggregate Matrix...

Order and pole locator estimation in fractional order systems using bode diagram

    , Article Signal Processing ; Volume 91, Issue 2 , February , 2010 , Pages 191-202 ; 01651684 (ISSN) Ghanbari, M ; Haeri, M ; Sharif University of Technology
    2010
    Abstract
This paper deals with estimation of fractional order and pole locator in fractional order systems. The estimation is based on Bode diagram of the system that is obtained using input and output measurements. Here the magnitude diagram is approximated with number of straight lines depending on the level of complexity and in consequence a very good estimation of fractional order and acceptable approximations of pole locators are determined. Relying on the proposed method, complexity of fractional order system identification which is mostly due to the estimation of fractional order is substantially resolved. Some example simulation results are provided to explain the work and show its...

    , Article Spectrochimica Acta - Part A: Molecular and Biomolecular Spectroscopy ; Volume 139 , March , 2015 , Pages 286-289 ; 13861425 (ISSN) Ghanbari, B ; Gholamnezhad, P ; Sharif University of Technology
    Elsevier  2015
    Abstract
A comparative investigation of the interaction of Cu(II) with a series of 15- to 19-membered mixed-donor dibenzo-substituted macrocyclic ligands, each incorporating an O2N2-donor set, has been carried out using UV-Visible studies in methanol. Although a ring size effect has been reported for a related series of Ni(II) complexes, no such metal ion discrimination has been reported for Cu(II) in terms of its binding constants with 14- to 17-membered macrocycles. Employing Job's method of continuous variation established 1:1 stoichiometry for the interaction between Cu(II) and 1-5. From UV-Visible studies applying the Benesi-Hildebrand equation, the binding constants (K) of Cu(II) with 1-5 were...
