- Abstract:
- Developing of space technology requires a realization of deep space scientific missions such as Mars exploration. NASA enterprises have outlined scientific challenges for success and reliable transfer of data for new design and version of space network architecture. These communications requires high bit rate for autonomous operations and also have several different limitations. These type of communications set as a network that is called IPN. One of the important challenges in IPN is reliability. As regard there are difference challenge in space communication that TCP is not capable to address Long propagation delay, asymmetric bandwidth and etc. Therefore we require new protocols that will address challenges of space communications. In this work, a reliable transport protocol as CPM (Control Packet Mechanism) is presented.CPM is intended to address the challenges and to achieve high throughput performance and reliable data transmission on deep-space links of the IPN Backbone Network. CPM deploys a pure rate transmission mechanism with avoidance of congestion to increase throughput and performance. CPM uses information packet (InP) to find resource of link and sink and control rate of sender according of them to avoid congestion. It works based on logicalframe to collect information of resources. The bandwidth asymmetry problem is addressed by the adoption of selective negative acknowledgment (SNACK). Simulations experiments show that the CPM is able to provide a reliable transmission with address the challenges posed by the IPN Backbone Network. The data rate has increased by more than twice.
