- Abstract:
- In the first part, a novel electrochemical sensor for clonazepam (CLNP) was fabricated based on immobilizing cellulose nanofibers /carbon nanoparticles (CNFs/CNPs) nanocomposite on glassy carbon electrode (CNFs/CNPs/GCE). The combination of CNFs and CNPs produced a novel kind of structurally uniform and electro-analytically active nanocomposite. The surface morphology of CNFs/CNPs layer deposited onto glassy carbon electrode was characterized by scanning electron microscopy. The results of the voltammetric investigations showed a considerable enhancement in the cathodic peak current of CLNP (up to 60 times) on the surface of CNFs/CNPs/GCE relative to the bare GCE. Under the optimal conditions, the modified electrode showed a wide linear response to the concentration of CLNP in the range of 0.1–10 µM. Furthermore high sensitivity, stability, repeatability and reproducibility as well as low detection limit of the electrode responses can be considered as significant features of the prepared modified electrode. This sensor was successfully applied for the accurate determination of trace amounts of CLNP in pharmaceutical and clinical preparations.
In the second part, for the first time glassy carbon electrode modified with a film of melamine /carbon nanoparticle (MLN/CNP) is constructed and used for the sensitive voltammetric determination of raloxifene (Ralo). The presence of the MLN/CNP film resulted in a remarkable increase in the peak currents and sharpness of the waves in comparison with unmodified electrode so that submicromolar concentrations of Ralo become detectable. Electroactive surface was produced by drop-casting a suspension of the modifier and characterized by surface electron microscopy. The electrochemical response characteristics of the modified electrode toward Ralo were studied by means of cyclic voltammetry and differential voltammetry. Experimental variables, such as the deposited amount of the modifier suspension, pH of the supporting electrolyte, the accumulation time and scan rate are optimized by monitoring the responses of Ralo. Under the optimum conditions, the modified electrode showed a wide linear dynamic range of 0.04 -2.0 µM with a detection limit of 10.0 nM for the voltammetric determination of Ralo. The prepared electrode showed high sensitivity, stability and good reproducibility in response to Ralo. The modified electrode can be successfully applied to the accurate determination of trace amounts of Ralo in pharmaceutical and clinical preparations - Keywords:
