, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Mohammadlou, Ali Akbar (Author) ; Bagherzadeh, Mojtaba (Supervisor)
    Abstract
In this study new manganese(III) complexes of phox [Mn(phox)2(MeOH)2](ClO4), (phox= 2-(2` hydroxyphenyl)-5,6-dihydro-1,3-oxazine) have been synthesized and characterized with CHN,NMR and IR.The six-membered bidentate (N,O) oxazine ligand have been widely used throughout organometallic and inorganic chemistry, and are particularly important in homogeneous catalysis. The presence of N and O donor sites in oxazines may modify significantly the ligand roles for the variation of steric and electronic properties. Therefore, such systems are worth exploring for new catalytic uses . Catalytic oxidation reactions provide excellent alternatives for the use of stoichiometric reagents like urea...

    Abstract
In nature, catalysis is of vital importance in a wide variety of biochemical processes catalyzed by metalloenzymes. The functions performed by the metalloenzymes and their significance have inspired a range of biomimetic studies, and intense efforts have been concentrated on the synthesis of low molecular weight complexes to model the spectroscopic features of such enzymes. Concomitantly, a challenging frontier in the field of biomimetic chemistry is the development of highly reactive model compounds that are able to effect rapid and selective substrate conversion. , M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Ayoubi, Mahdi (Author) ; Simchi, Abdolreza (Supervisor)
    Abstract
In recent years, quantum dots specially NIR QDs like lead sulfide have attracted a lot of attentions in various bioapplications such as bioimaging, stem cell tracking, etc. However, these materials are generally synthesized by using organic lagands like oleic acid which is not appropriate for bioapplications. Moreover, the cytotoxicity of these materials have severely restricted their applications. In this research, lead sulfide quantum dots were synthesized via a hot injection route. The nanocrystals had an average size of 3 nm passivated with oleic acid ligands and graphene nanosheets. Excitonic and photoluminescence peaks were observed in wavelengths of 950 and 1100 nm, respectively....

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Mansouri, Hamid (Author) ; Asgari, Sirous (Supervisor)
    Abstract
Over the past two decades, several studies have been investigated on synthesis and properties of semi-conductor quantum dots because of their applications in sensors, LEDs, detectors, solar cells, etc. One of challenging issues in synthesizing these nano-particles is their size distribution. In this study, Cadmium Selenide was synthesized by the method of colloidal synthesis. X-ray diffraction showed that the crystalline nano-particles have wurtzite structure. For obtaining a uniform size distribution, effect of various parameters such as molar ratio of components and reaction temperature on the growth kinetics of these particles, were studied. Results showed that molar ratio of Selenium to...

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Sobhani, Maryam (Author) ; Matloubi Moghaddam, Firouz (Supervisor)
    Abstract
We have reported a new and efficient synthesis of tetrahydrothiopyrano [2,3-b]indole skeletons via unique tandem reaction of indoline-2-thiones to Baylis-Hillman adduct acetates. This protocol is a very mild and simple method for construction heterocycles in a one-step process. This is a convenient and diastereoselective synthesis of methyl 4-aryl-2,3,4,9-tetrahydrothiopyrano[2,3-b]indole-3-carboxylate systems in the presence of K2CO3 in acetonitrile. The major benefits of the current study are the one-pot procedure, high yields and diastereoselectivity, short reaction times and the similarity of the products to the biologically active moieties.

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Kashani, Shima (Author) ; Iraji zad, Aazam (Supervisor) ; Rahimi, Fereshte (Co-Advisor)
    Abstract
H2S is a toxic gas used in chemical laboratories and industries. H2S is also liberated in nature due to biological processes and also from mines and petroleum fields. At some threshold level, exposure to concentrations over 10 ppm can result in headaches, irritability, dizziness and in some case leads to death. So that introducing sensors which sense H2S at ppm level with the low response time is so essential. The present work emphasizes on H2S resistance-sensing properties of pure and Pd doped WO3 films prepared by Arc discharge method. XRD, SEM, EDAX and XPS were applied to analyze crystal structure, morphology and chemical composition of the films. The analyzes results showed that films...

, Ph.D. Dissertation Sharif University of Technology Maghsoudi, Hafez (Author) ; Soltanieh, Mohammad (Supervisor)
    Abstract
Zeolite membranes are of interest due to their special properties; thermal and mechanical resistances and non-plasticization property in gas separations. Therefore, separation of H2S from natural gas by these membranes is the main goal of this thesis which is not investigated in the world. After some theoretical investigations including diffusion mechanisms of gases in the zeolites and adsorption mechanism of H2S on the zeolites, pure silica CHA-type (Si-CHA) zeolite was selected. After successful synthesis of Si-CHA zeolite, adsorption isotherms of H2S, CO2, and CH4 on the Si-CHA zeolite were measured over pressure range of 0-190 kPa and temperatures of 25 °C, 50 °C, and 75 °C. Acid gases...
