  7. Abstract:
  8. Bone scaffolds are used to regenerate bone tissue and accelerate bone healing, for this purpose, an attempt was made to prepare biocompatible, biodegradable, low toxicity and non-allergenic scaffolds to help increase osteogenesis and improve bone infections. A porous multi-component composite of chitosan, hydroxyapatite, graphene oxide functionalized with silver was made to make the desired scaffolds. At first, graphene oxide was functionalized by silver ions using silver nitrate. The structure of silver graphene oxide nanocomposite was confirmed by scanning electron microscope (SEM), Fourier infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), and ultraviolet (UV-Visible) spectroscopy. In the next step, a scaffold of chitosan, hydroxyapatite and graphene functionalized with silver was produced by agarose gel maker. Various tests were performed to check the properties of the scaffolds. Based on the results of the qualitative antibacterial test, the scaffolds with silver nanoparticles had the most antibacterial properties. The percentage of porosity of all samples in the ethanol substitution test was between 60 and 70%, their water absorption was 1500 to 4000%, and their degradability within three weeks was 20 to 30%. The morphology of the scaffolds was measured by imaging with a scanning electron microscope, and based on the observations, the completely porous structure with the pores related to each other of the scaffolds showed a suitable field for providing adhesion and proliferation of cells. The evaluation of mechanical properties also shows the improvement of compressive modulus by 12.21 kPa by adding hydroxyapatite nanoparticles to the scaffold structure. According to the obtained results, it can be stated that the scaffold made in the way mentioned has the required features to be used as a functional scaffold
