  8. From the past, the damask rose has an important place in various pharmaceutical, food, health and cosmetic industries. This product has the largest cultivated area in Iran, which is about 24,000 hectares, equal to 60% of its total cultivation in the world. Considering the conditions required for the cultivation of this plant, including the low water requirement, the expansion of its cultivation has been considered. One of the important obstacles to not expanding cultivation is manual harvesting, which strongly affects the quality and mass of essential oil and rose water. The efforts that have been made so far in the field of designing and producing the rose harvesting machine have not had the desired result due to reasons such as the lack of use of modern technologies and lack of proper investment. Based on this and the needs assessment and the obtained data, the general and conceptual design of the machine has been determined. After this step, the detailed design of different parts of the machine has been done. In the design of each component, different designs that can achieve the desired functionality are collected. Then, the best design is selected based on the specific requirements of that component. The order of design of different parts of the machine is determined according to the effect of different parts on each other and their sequence. First, the identification system of the damask rose in the bush, then the structure separating the rose from its stem, and then collecting the separated flowers in the tank, in the continuation of the conceptual design of the movement and advancement of the machine in the field, and finally the conceptual design of the body of the machine. In order to optimize the machine, different operating modes of the color sensor, fan suction, and arm movement speed, and finally the advantages and disadvantages of the machine have been examined.
